Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes the labia minora (inner lips) and/or labia majora (outer lips) to reduce discomfort or improve appearance. At Revive Gynecology & Cosmetics in Cherry Hill, NJ, we offer advanced techniques in cosmetic gynecology, including labiaplasty with or without clitoral hood reduction.

Whether you're seeking more comfort during daily activities or enhanced confidence, we offer multiple surgical techniques tailored to your anatomy and goals.

Procedure Options

Why will I need Labiaplasty?

Medical and physical reasons

  • To reduce the size of labia minora so it doesn’t protrude beyond the edges of the labia majora. Excess labial tissue can twist, turn, or get pinched or tugged, and cause physical discomfort and irritation during exercise, physical activities (such as bike riding or jogging) and intercourse.
  • To improve hygiene and health since excess tissue can make cleansing more difficult and can harbor bacteria that can lead to the development of urinary tract infections.

Cosmetic and emotional reasons

  • To restore a more youthful look after childbirth or aging.
  • To reduce asymmetry (uneven shape) of the labia minora or labia majora when one side is longer or shaped differently than the other.
  • To increase self-confidence and eliminate the visual lines, bulges or “camel toe” appearance when wearing body-conforming pants or leggings.
  • To improve comfort, confidence and sexual well-being about the appearance of your genitalia during intimate contact.

Will I need Anesthesia?

Labiaplasty is usually done under local anesthesia but you may elect to do it under general anesthesia at the surgery center for additional fee.

How is the recovery after Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure. You will be able to go home the same day. You may experience some light vaginal bleeding or pain. You will get pain prescriptions to help you the first few days. All stitches are dissolvable and do not need to be removed in the office. Any swelling usually resolves within two weeks. Scars are minor and hard to notice once you are completely healed.

Most patients return to work few days after the surgery and can resume normal activities within a week. You can resume physical exercise by 4 weeks, and sexual activity by 6 weeks.

Our team at Revive will guide you through each stage of recovery to ensure optimal healing and long-term satisfaction.

What are the risks and potential complications of Labiaplasty surgery?

Complications are infrequent with experienced surgeon but ,like all surgical procedures, Labiaplasty carries potential risks which can include:

  • Too much tissue or not enough tissue removed.
  • Bleeding.
  • Infection.
  • Bruising or hematoma.
  • Wound breakdown.
  • Scar formation.
  • Ongoing pain, pain with sex or loss of sensitivity.
  • Botched results.
How much does Labiaplasty cost?

The cost of labiaplasty surgery ranges from $6000 - $9000 depending on the type of labiaplasty, the type of anesthesia needed, and whether it involves clitoral hood reduction, or posterior commissure revision. Dr. Elshoreya will discuss with you what is needed to be done to achieve your goals and will give you a more accurate estimate at your consultation visit.

Since cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance, we have financial options to help you pay on your own pace. No interest fee if you pay it over 6 months.

Do you perform revisions for botched labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a work of art that is modified according to the patient's anatomy and needs. This procedure should only be done by a Cosmetic Gynecologist or Surgeon specifically trained in Cosmetic Gynecology procedures. Botched results can occur when a general gynecologist or plastic surgeon performs the procedure without proper training or skills.

Dr. Elshoreya performs Labiaplasty revisions for botched cases, but it takes more effort, and results may not be as ideal as it should be after the initial surgery.
