Recovery after Vaginoplasty: What to Expect

Expect one week of down time. Most patients return to work within a week. Complete recovery is expected after 6 weeks.

You may feel pain or achiness after the surgery, you will be prescribed pain medications to help you through the first few days.

You may have mild bleeding, bruising, or swelling. These usually resolve within a week.

Patients must refrain from smoking, sternuous activity, heavy lifting, and sexual intercourse for 6 weeks.

Depending on the amount of tightening performed, some patients may be instructed to use dilators.
